Abstract:
This year at the Text Analysis Conference, hosted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and colocated with the Text Retrieval Conference, we ran the inaugural offering of the Plain Language Adaptation of Biomedical Abstracts track. I will provide an overview of this track, including background and motivation, provenance of training and test data, evaluation strategies, baseline methods, participating systems, and results.
